Here are some body life updates for this week. It's a little longer than normal :)
truth for the week ahead
I know many of you are undergoing various trials. I pray that you will find comfort in the words of the Psalmist. He found sustenance and benefit in his trials as he was refined by God. And he even embraced God's providence as he saw that through his trials he came to know God in a deeper way.
Psalm 119:49-50; 65-68 - Remember the word to Your servant, in which You have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, that Your word has revived me. You have dealt well with Your servant, O Lord, according to Your word. Teach me good discernment and knowledge for I believe in Your commandments. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. You are good and do good; teach me Your statutes.
Thank you to everyone who joined us two Sundays ago at the new building. It was an exciting time to gather as a church family and get a glimpse of the future ministry home for CBC. We had a joyful time playing instruments and singing together afterward.

Friday 3/1 - Approved Workman @ Allan Bros Albany.
Saturday 3/2 - 2 Sessions on the church at the Holiday Inn Express in Albany (9:00-12:00).
Sunday 3/3 - Sunday service at Santiam Place and Q&A afterward.
Have you ever had a hard time explaining expository preaching? Expository preaching is an often used term, but not always fully understood. Here's a session from Dr. Matt Waymeyer at the Courageous Churchmen conference, preaching on expository preaching. This message will increase your discernment and deepen your convictions about God's Word. It is also a great resource if you are trying to help someone understand how to identify biblically faithful preaching.
It was a refreshing trip to Florida last week. We were fed spiritually, and it was also a great time connecting with friends including an evening with Jay Pitts, one of the elders from GIBC. Early in the week we met with some people who want to get behind our building project financially. More details to come, but it was humbling as they pledged their love for the kingdom and specifically for our flock. You can watch recordings of the event here.
With the affection of Christ,
